The Dot Wall

After painting my daughters room, we decided the accent wall needed more accent. Maybe something French or Spanish. Ok, not that accent. But, something fun. Something for kids, yet timeless for tweens. I was going to paint some stripes, but honestly, it was a huge mess trying to tape off even lines and all that. I don't know how people do it. Maybe a huge level a opposed to a 12 inch level? Just a thought. Anyway, after browsing some fun pics on Pinterest, I found my answer. Polka dots. Dots. Dotdotdot. Here are some of my inspirations...

Sisters with Flair adhered her card stock dots with simple spray adhesive. This is by far the easiest and cheapest solution for a dot wall that I stumbled across. And the end result is pretty cool.

I loved the huge, gigantic dots on the bright pink wall as well. Another fun example of a dot wall with a covered headboard and fun monogrammed pillows.

Painting the dots would be hard, but if you made a stencil...then it's a snap!

These wall dots are textured wallpaper  How easy would these be to stick to your wall? Again, genius!

Can you see the dots? I know, very subtle, right? I LOVE that! They are the perfect blend of whimsy against the extravagant chandelier and rich, elegant textures of the pillows, bedding and even the lampshades. I love it.

Here's a little sneak peek at my dot wall. I have a friend who printed the vinyl for me in 11" circles. I was going to do lines of dots, buy my daughter came in and told me she wanted them to be "crazy." So, crazy I went and I had a lot of fun doing it. Dots ended up in corners, on ceilings, near the floorboards. It was fun and the best part was, my daughters LOVE their dot wall.

And that's all that really matters in the end.

  2. The polka dots are very cute. Stripes are kinda last year. This seems super cute and modern.
