Play Room Turned Girls Room Reveal

Ok, I think I'm ready to finally show you the completed version of my girls room. Previous posts have shown you bits and pieces but now I'm finally ready to show you all of it together. At once. Like ripping off a band aid. I say this because the room is not quite there yet. I still need to find prints for some frames, window treatments and paint the trim white. But, after a wise friend suggested a brilliant move of furniture, I am happy enough with it now to share with you. Here's the before...

And here's the after...

The dot wall becomes a prominent feature after moving the beds to another wall. It also opened up a wide area at one half of the room for play.

The Ikea chandelier ($40) is a lovely touch of awesome. And, if you're taller than me (say, my husband), you have to duck. That's as short as this light fixture gets. Which, is ok for me, since it doesn't hit me or my daughters in the head!

So, yes, we are still a work in progress. But, it's come such a long way that we are pretty pleased with the current state of things. I love the fuzzy rugs from Ikea ($10 each!) and the texture and softness they bring into the room as well. The girls love moving them around, "sleeping" on them and sitting on them to read. Who needs chairs? Anyway, this is our after!

Have a great week everyone!
