Metallic Side Table

Happy Labor Day everyone! Just got back from our week of camping. If you follow me on Instagram you know that I came back with about 30 bites on my FEET. Yup, just my feetsies. They itch like crazy. I'm never camping without socks again. Now we are just gearing up for our 1st day of school tomorrow. I can't believe summer is over! And my baby will be in school all day (she's in 1st grade)! I might be a little sniffly all day long.

Let's move on before I need a tissue.

My friend Erika is slowly but surely re-doing her home with thrifty finds. It works out great because Erika has a great eye for good structure and then I get to spruce them up.

Well, she came to me with this after attempting to put a coat of paint on…

There was a valiant attempt at sanding the top, but the outer edges were still a mess and the paint had started to clump, drip and cake up after sanding.

So, after sanding the paint for what seemed like forever, I took a wood chisel to it….and it worked! All the gunky paint came right off.

I put 2 coats of primer on and then 2 coats of Heirloom White in Satin. But, Erika has a very sparkly personality and the table needed to represent that.

Insert Metallic Gold.

Oh, I love.

It was so fun to add this embellishment and Erika loves her table! What more can a girl ask for? I’m excited for the next project!

Anything to keep my mind off of this all day away from mom business.

  4. I love the stripes. Iam new to painting furniture! Do you spray or brush your paint? If you brush how do you keep from having brush marks? New to your blog. I really love it.
