Chevron Curtains

Remember my painted curtain debacle for my son's room? Well, I think I found a solution...and it's called I ordered 3 yards of a yellow chevron print for $7/yard on sale. I thought it was a pretty good deal.

When it came I let it sit there and stare at me for a few weeks. I had to work up some motivation. The thing is, I needed to line the curtains with blackout fabric because the room faces the sun in the mornings...and the sun rises so early! I was happy to find out that the fabric was wide enough to cut in half and make 2 panels.

I really, really loved how it turned out.

The black out fabric works really well....the middle has a hard time staying together and I'm thinking of adding a button tab to keep the panels together someday...maybe....

I cut and reused the old tabs from my painted curtains and sewed them on these panels. It worked out really well and saved me a lot of hassle.

It's really hard to get a good curtain shot with the sun shining through. I'm not very camera-smart, so I'm sure there's a way to go about this...notice my toy-filled deck in the corner? Yeah, we're the messy neighbors.

Here's an ok shot! I love these curtains so much more than my painted curtains! The room is finally looking good and I'm excited for the final reveal!
