Family Tree

My sister is a crafting maniac. She found this super fun and cute idea for a Grandparent present from Gardners 2 Bergers. It's a "family tree" with the branches and everything made from peoples names in the family. Make sense? I think it's brilliant!

She somehow figured out how to do this with Microsoft Publisher and word art! Simple, right? she just rotated the names to look like branches. Once she had the image she imagined, she sent it to Staples to get it printed and enlarged. After she got the print, she tea-dyed the print to give it a lovely aged look. I love! I told her my birthday is coming up (well, in August, but who's counting?) and this would be a great present!

  3. Very cool! I would never have thought to try this with MS Publisher.

I did something similar to this several months back to create a word cloud portrait of my son using a free web-based tool called Tagxedo.

  8. What a lovely idea. My parents are in their 80s, but I know they'd love this. Our "gang" is up to 27 with the latest addition of my nieces new baby, Daisy. I bet everyone in the family would love one. Super idea. Thanks. I'm following you via Linky Followers. Hope you'll follow back.
