Apple Bucket #2

OK ya'll...ready for round two of the apple bucket makeover? You can see what I did with one of the baskets here. Here's what started with:

Nice pic, huh? Ah, before pics aren't supposed to be pretty. I decided I wanted to try a white-wash on this bucket, so I took my white paint craft and added a nice sized dollop (we are not mathematicians on this blog) and then added a few drops of water to make it nice and runny. You kind of need to eye-ball it because if you add too much water, your color won't make any difference. I quickly spread the wash over the bucket (it drips! Cover your counters!) and it dried super quick. I LOVED the way the wash turned out in the end. I even painted the inside, it was so easy and fast!
I had a little wooden plaque left over from a $1 store project (you can buy these at Michael's for super cheap) and used my chalkboard spray paint and gave it a few good coats.

I found some lovely sage green ribbon in my stash and decided to use that on my bucket. I had a hard time getting it through the tiny holes, so I used stickers (I was looking for tape, but couldn't find any!) to make the corners small and it worked like a charm! After getting the ribbon through the holes (my holes were pre-made, but a drill would easily make a couple of holes in your plaque as well), I tied a simple knot and then used my little lighter to lightly singe the edges to keep them from fraying (that may have been the funnest part....).

After that, it was simply a glue gun away from attaching it to the center of my bucket and then the photo shoot could commence...

Oh, we had a fun time, my little bucket and I....until I realized today really felt like...

....winter....

....and the contents of the bucket (hats, gloves, scarves) also reflected the cold weather we are now experiencing...

Anyone know how to tie a ribbon on straight??

Here are my apple buckets, side by side and happy with their make-overs.

I'm pretty happy with their little make-overs, too.

 Have a wonderful week everyone!
