Thrifty Finds

I haven't been thrifty shopping all summer long! I know! What??? Well, I've been working on rather large projects and thought hubs would appreciate me saving our pennies for other things. Like the utilities bill. But, the other day, the urge just came upon me and we had to go! It was a compulsion. I couldn't control it!

I have a weird love of eyelet lace right now. I just love that stuff. So far I've collected a pillow case and a queen size top sheet with wonderful eyelet edging. So, I was thrilled to find this twin sheet of eyelet. I love the detail. I'm thinking I'll either use it for my daughters bed or maybe make some curtains for her room? Cut it up to make skirts? Oh, the possibilities....

In honor of the approaching fall season and holiday, I decided to purchase this glass pumpkin. I can see it full of fun Halloween candies or pine cones or anything else that would look perfect for fall.

I just love this detail.....

And, I've been on the hunt for the perfect pedestal-pairing, so I've been looking for a bowl and candlestick or something to make it perfect. Then, I stumbled on this already made! I know! Snatched it right up.

I went nuts on the tester aisle at Home Depot the other day and came home with this lovely color, French Grey, from Glidden. (Apparently, gray is "the" color this season....who knew?)

After one coat....

After two coats and some sanding....

Fun, right? I had to move my decor ball back up high because little mister decided it would make a good baseball. Now it is filled with lovely life saver mints. The plus side on this---the kids don't like 'em! Just me. Ahhh.....
