New Welcome Mat

Oh, what a nice weekend we had. It was beautiful weather...lovely to be outside. And just relaxing! I love weekends like that.
We had a front door mat that I found on clearance at Target (for like, $3) and I snatched it up. It was perfect for the winter months, I thought.
Then, I got bored with it. As usual.

So, I flipped it over and taped off a diamond pattern....
...spray painted and ta-da! New mat! I love the color and the design. It's a fun little addition to our front porch.
Like my front door? It's driving me CRAZY! Last summer I started spray painting all that brass black and ran into a wall....and I still haven't finished! I want to paint my door black and add some silver...ah, all sorts of ideas are coming my way. Someday, I will actually execute them!

But for now, we'll enjoy our new mat...

And the lovely times outside...

Remember my post here about my front porch? Check out the plant's huge! I'm not sure what to do with it? Cut it back? Let it grow? Augh!

  1. Your "new" mat looks great. I put out a fall one made like that. When my granddaughter visited, she told me she couldn't step on it because it ouched her. hehehe

  2. What a great redo for your mat and it looks great! Thanks for visiting and your nice comments.

  3. Ha! A simple, yet effective decision. Good job! :)

  5. I do like the mat! I am going to try something similar on a kitchen mat... I think. When I feel brave. :)

  7. How quick and easy! That's my favorite kind of project! I have one of those rugs on my back porch...but I'm afraid of what I'll find when I turn it over :)

  8. I love this! It looks great!
