A Bathroom Redo for My Sister

While I was visiting my sister at her new house she asked me to help paint her bathroom cabinets.
I said sure.
Hey, it's what I do.
So we got to work.

(The pics are with my sorry!)

Here's a really bad before shot of her bathroom, after we began the process.

Here's the color of the original hardware. To save money we decided to spray paint the hardware a brushed nickel.
Here are the handles. I really liked the curved lines and was glad we were able to save them.

We used a piece of cardboard to secure all the screws and painted them as well.

She chose antique white for her paint color. We did a distressed finish and she loved it.

I'm so glad.

A little tip: don't paint in 105 degree weather.
It just isn't worth it.

  1. It looks great, Meg. I think it's so cool you just painted the handles. A makeover can make such a difference but you've shown that one can just paint to give a whole new look. I bet your sis is thrilled!

  2. Just lovely! I hope she took you out for a milkshake after!

  3. This is such a great transformation! So much cheaper than buying new cabinets, but just as effective in giving the bathroom a new lease of life!

  4. Looks great, and better on the pocketbook than ripping out!

  5. Oh, you did a great job. This is just what I did this past week. Love your white. The cabinets we priced were so expensive and the boys would have just torn it up. LOL So we painted.

  9. ohmygosh!! Don't do ANYTHING in 105 degree weather, lol. It looks great.
