Spice Rack Book Shelf

Hey guys! I'm on Knock Off Decor today! I'd love for you to check it out!

Ok, so this is a super easy and fun project. And, CHEAP. Yeah, that was the kicker for me.

Many moons ago, someone linked up this project at a Everything but the Kitchen Sink and I knew I had to try this out!

First, you go to Ikea and get the $3 wooden spice racks. I grabbed 3 of them. SO CHEAP!
Then, you take them home and spray paint them any darn color you want. I went with a nice deep blue, in high gloss.

After that dries you assemble and hang them up on your wall. (Just for the record, I hung up the first two and then hubs stepped in for the last one while I helped kids brush their teeth).

Then, you add the books! Simple!

My little boy loves how he can easily reach them and put them away. He kept handing me books to add to his shelves! Success.

We love reading books about trains and planes before bedtime...

The noise-maker books go on top.

This was an easy and affordable project and I'm happy that all of our books are off the floor!

  1. Aren't those great? I saw them on another blog, and made a mental note, and then forgot about them. Thanks for the reminder! I wish they were a little bit bigger, but for the price, I guess I can't complain! Thanks for sharing, they look awesome!
