Everything but the Kitchen Sink

Hey guys!

Guess what I'm doing this weekend?

I'm running my first 5K!

I really want to do well. I 'm hoping I'll look like this....

But I have a feeling I'll look like this...

So, wish me luck!

This week's question...

Have you ever run a race?
and
How did you do??

Also, do you have some questions about link party etiquette? Want to start your own party? If you want some answers, please check out this link, where all your questions will be answered! Be sure to check out the comment section in Sarah's post for some more great advice!

Now, time for the party! Have fun!

  1. i have run in maybe 4 or 5 5ks and one 10 k. i love the 5k because it is not long, and it is more the just for fun people who do them- not too competetive. i am sure you will do great! i am not fast at all, but it's still fun crossing the finish line!

  2. I've ran a few races but I didn't do to well. I usually just end up walking a good portion of it. I'm sure you'll do fine :) All the hub bub and fun at the finish line makes it all worth it. Lots of races have snacks for the runners at the end and stops with cups of water along the way. Make sure you go to the bathroom before. Not all races have bathrooms along the way.

  3. I have never ran in a race but my mom does all the time. She is actually participating in a Ragnar Race this weekend- we are so proud of her!! She has a cool trick where she dedicates each mile to someone special in her life. That inspires her to keep going when she feels like laying down and calling it quits.

  5. Good luck at your first race! I have run several 5ks and love doing races (minus the part where you have to pay to run!). I ran a 5k in celebration of my 30th birthday and took 3rd in my age division. But my favorite thing is when I get to run the races with my kids. My 8 year old daughter ran two 5k's with me last year and rocked! You will do great. Best of luck!

  6. I actually did a 5K a few years ago with my husband & my dad for Pancreatic Cancer research (my dad has pancreatic cancer). I did ok considering I'm not at all a runner and we did walk a good part of it. But, if I can do it, you can! Good luck!

  9. Two of my kids are cross country runners and my husband just ran a 5K a few weeks ago for the first time. Me...I'm not a runner. But I'll walk anyday! Congratulations to you, Meg! That's quite an accomplishment. Good for you!

  11. Oh good for you for running a 5k! I am running my first one on the 4th of July, and let me tell you, I am going to run the whole thing - even if I look like Homer by the end (with a way more reddish/purple face) and need a wheelchair. I'm determined! You'll be great ;) Thanks for hosting, as always.

  14. You are sooo funny, Meg. I would love to look like the first image, but don't. But thank goodness, I don't resemble the second one either. lol I used to run a couple of miles EVERY day. My longest distance EVER was 10 miles - and I thought I was going to die before it was all over! ;)
