Everything but the Kitchen Sink & Giveaway Reminder

Last week I posted a question and received some great feedback and inspiration. I thought, wouldn't this be fun to do this every week? Well, maybe not the "I'm depressed" part, that's not so fun. But, posing a question to you guys is such an uplifting experience for me. There's a wealth of knowledge, comfort and humor out there that I just love. So, this week's question, if you choose to answer it...

What made you smile today?

For me, many things make me smile. My kids laughter. Chocolate. Good jokes. Witty humor. My husband coming home. Talking to my parents or sisters. And brother (can't leave him out). Getting emails from my cousin. Laughing during girls nights. Romantic comedies. A lovely pair of high heels. Fitting into my skinny jeans (once in a blue moon). A craft project that turns out exactly like I planned. A home run. Pizza. With lots and lots of fatty cheese. Seeing a first snowfall. Seeing the snow melt. See?? Lots of things.

But, today, this made me smile. My daughter and I were talking about her birth. I didn't want to get into too much detail (she's a bit young for the particulars) and I said she had cute chubby cheeks when she was born. She said, "yeah, like I still have now." Ha! I laughed out loud at that one. So, I want to know what made you smile today!

And now, let's start the party! Where the rules are, there are no rules! Have fun!

  1. Thank you for hosting.

I smiled today when my baby babbled while he played with blocks. :) And I'm sure I'll smile tonight while watching The Office!

  2. I wish I had done better today in the smiling department. Instead I let everything get to me. I will make sure to do better tomorrow. To be more patient and to have my reactions be peaceful instead of irritated. Thanks for hosting!

  6. I'm so happy you got a great response from it. :) TODAY my sweet daughter is sick for pretty much the first time ever. At the dr she wore her Tangled shirt and as soon as we got to the dr's they were playing Tangled. She even got a Tangled sticker from the nurse. BUT when the Dr asked her what princess is on your shirt my sweet Alie say "that's Rapunzel and I'm Princess Alice" HA!! I love her SO MUCH!!! :)

  10. What a sweet story...thank you for reminding us to smile. It is sad that sometimes we forget...yesterday was a bit of a rough day, but after reading your post this morning, I had to think about what has made me smile so far...and I remembered that I woke up to a chorus of birds singing outside the window...our lives are full of blessings...we should be smiling all the time. I am going to try my best to smile A LOT today, thanks for the inspiration :)

  11. Great idea! I got a good laugh in my class of preschoolers when one of them, when asked to try the vegetable soup we made, said, "I'm nervous!" Isn't that a crack-up from a 4 year-old about tasting some broth? :-)

Love looking through all the links- thanks!

  12. What made me smile today? When I told my 3 year old princess to go and gets some clothes to put on for the day and I would help her get dressed. She told me she could do it by herself. And she sure did! She had on a ballerina skirt, sweatshirt and cowboy boots! Needless to say, I grabbed my camera! LOL
