Bathroom Reno....part one

*I hope you can join this week's giveaway with Sometimes I Swirl, and receive a free painting!

Hey all!

I thought I'd share a little of what I've been working on all week.

I have a little, itty-bitty bathroom in our downstairs. When we bought the house, it had this color...

Yes, people, that's purple. Dark purple.

I wanted to show you the bathroom in all its glory. Right now, my girls use it...hence the pink toothpaste and bright doo-dads all over. They also managed to rip the TP holder off the side of the cabinet. They have super human strength.

And it came with this lovely light bar....yech....

And it has a shower we never use, thus never clean...

So, I set my mind to paint and re-do the space...about 6 months ago. I lack motivation, people! You have heard me complain of this before! Apparently, I needed a New Year's Resolution to get my butt in gear.

So, I found a lovely shade of paint called "sage-tint," (creative, right?) and started painting. I'm a firm believe in NOT using primer (why pay for twice the paint? WHY??? Oh, I know it's good. I'm just lazy) and got to work painting all by myself. Hubs believed having two of us in the small space would be darn near impossible. Considerate guy.

I added all new hardware (notice the TP holder is now on the tank and not on the wall. No more holes for me!) and picked out a new light fixture that will go up this week. I'm also planning a mirror treatment like I did to our master bath here

I decided to try a distressing treatment on the cabinet base, and had fun sanding the edges and adding a glaze. I love the look. We're still in the process of finding the perfect cabinet hardware. I'm so excited.

Here's a close-up of the cabinet door.

I covered the shower with a lovely white shower curtain I found at Target. I really need to iron that sucker.

So, part two of the mini bathroom reveal will be the little finishing touches...pictures, rugs, etc. So excited to accessorize the space. I love it and I hope you do, too!
