This and That

*REMINDER: Remember to link up to my Friday link party, Everything But The Kitchen Sink!

Remember THIS tragedy, dear readers?

Well, I decided to try and fix it. Not sure how I like it....but hey, it's a vast improvement so it'll do for now!

First, I found a broken sign at the $1 store. Didn't haggle, because c'mon, it was only $1. Painted it with a nice acrylic antique white. Then, I used my "poor-mans" word transfer method to get the words on the board, outlining them with my black acrylic paint pen.

You know, there are several ways to get the antique-weathered look....so, I opted for this one. I simply used my distressing ink.

I was distressing away when my husband came up and said, "oh...look at all those squares. That's probably not what you wanted to happen." Sigh. Husbands. I looked at it again and thought, "I don't know--IS IT???" The jury is still out. But for now, it looks a whole lot better than THIS! (I simply hot glued the plaque to the cloth. Works like a charm).

  1. Oh I like the pattern. Don't change it. It looks good. Those loving hubbies, sometimes they need to wait before they speak ;-).

  2. Very cute!! And THIS is much better than THAT.

And at first glance, I don't see "squares." It just looks textured. Nice!

  3. Most likely would not have noticed, if you had not pointed the squares out...looked like intentional patterns. Sometimes, it's OK to keep a little secret when something does not turn our as we thought it would. Keep on crafting!
