Green Rocking Chair

I finished up a few playroom projects in the last couple days. This one was a re-do of the little rocking chair in the room. I found it years ago at a garage sale for $3. It was brown. Brown people! We can't have brown in a playroom! So, for my first ever craft project, I tried spray painting it. It was TERRIBLE. Drips everywhere, gunk in corners and crevices. Not a pretty site. I wasn't sure how to handle it so I thought I would stencil over the madness. It didn't help. Then, I decided if I painted it with acrylic yellow, it would help. Well, I painted around the stencils. Yes, I know. To answer your question, I had no idea what I was doing.

So, here it is in all it's gross, drippy glory:

I decided to paint it a simple green and give it a nice antique look by sanding the corners and edges. My daughter wanted her flowers back, however, so we compromised and added 3 white flowers on the front. I then covered the whole thing in lacquer to protect it from the elements...i.e. children.

P.S. Please see the sidebar for the fun link parties I join during the week!
