Guest Blog - Nancy's Tidbits

Hi, my name is Nancy from Nancy's Tidbits. Meg invited me to do a guest post on her blog today which I'm honored to do! I've been blogging for a little over a year now and really enjoy it.

Just a little background on myself: I live in a small town in Iowa. Mr. Nancy and I have been married 28 years. We have two children, Hannah and John. I work outside the home at two part time jobs: I'm our church secretary and I also work in a rural health clinic. Besides blogging, my interests include spending time with family, reading, walking, health and fitness, volunteering, shopping, decorating and learning how to do more DIY projects.

Blogging has proven to be a huge learning experience for me. There are so many blogs with a wealth of information, tips and ideas. I've learned thrifting, dumpster diving and anything short of begging for free stuff is not for the faint of heart! In my area, the best bet for finding some great things to repurpose come from Good Will. I have been so lucky to have found a few things that I was looking for there.

Here is a table I recently purchased there for $5! I sanded it down, spray painted it black, distressed it a bit and finished it with a coat of poly stain in pecan. I simply brushed it on and wiped it off, which helped to highlight the distressed areas.

Something else I enjoy crafting with is paper. I like making tags, stamping and just anything I come up with. Here are some paper flowers I made out of brown coffee filters. If you're interested in a mini tutorial on how I made these, check my blog this coming week!
Thanks for stopping by; I had fun visiting with you today! Wishing you all a fantastic week! Happy blogging!
Hugs,
Nancy
