New Projects - Kitchen

My kitchen needed some color. And it needed it for exactly 0 dollars. So, I grabbed my red spray paint, my frost, and some stencils and sandpaper and went a little nuts...

First, I took my flour and sugar canisters and gave them a nice sticker, taped up the lids and sprayed a layer of frost on the glass (yes, I left the flour and sugar in there. I call it being prudent...others might call it lazy).

Then, I took my old and ratty looking paper towel holder and sprayed it red.

After the frost dried on the canisters, I took the letter stickers off and sprayed the lids the same red. Nice all matchy-matchy, huh?

I then took my trusty sandpaper to distress the paper towel holder a little bit. It's going to be getting pretty used, might as well start the look now!

Such little things, but to me, they made such a nice pop of color in my otherwise colorless corner of the kitchen.

  3. This is so cute. I have never used the frosty paint, but I have a large glass canister in my kitchen that is just begging for a monogram!

  5. I have those same jars, but would never have thought to paint them. I love it! Great pops of color. I have red as an accent color in my kitchen too. Well, and turquoise. I love a little color! Can't help but be happy when you see it.
