New Craft Corner

I've always prided myself on my organizational skills. I don't like clutter and we tend to throw away a lot of our "junk" quite frequently. Clean spaces are a must in my house. did I let this little corner of my master bedroom mutate into this???

I don't know. I could have taken pictures of much more, but I'll spare you the grizzly details. I have a hall closet full of supplies that are just thrown in there....another closet filled with spare blankets, shoes, clothes, pack 'n' plays, etc. And, since I have little children who loved to pull books out of bookshelves and even rip pages out, all my books (and I have a lot of them, I love to read) are packed away or under my bed. In fact, I don't have any more room under my bed, there are so many books piled under there. I couldn't take it anymore! I had to fix this! I had...a mission.

So, I loaded the kids up and we went to my favorite store of all time....Ikea. The great thing about this trip is that my two little girls now meet the requirements to play in the Ikea play area. BLISS! I dropped them off for them to happily play while I took the boy and went to discover the wonderful world of bookshelves, baskets, boxes and other organizational tools.

After getting the $.50 hotdogs and dropping the miss off at preschool, I went home to assemble my new Ikea bookshelf.
I pride myself on being able to read Ikea directions (just so you know, there are no words, just pictures. Awesome).

And, I took all my crafting supplies and books-under-the-bed and here's the end result....

Everything in one location. And all organized and purdy. I love it!

Then, I had to tell my husband.

I'm still alive.

How do YOU like to organize?

  1. Ummm...what's "organize"? LoL My craft corner (that has taken over my whole room!) makes your before pic look like the epitome of organization! I was a "thrift junkie" before, but since I have found craft blogging I'm an official thrift a holic!
Thank you for visiting my blog today! I'm glad to have found yours and have signed on as your newest follower!
Please stop by and say hello again!

  2. It looks so great now! Gotta love Ikea. Wish there was a store here in Iowa.

I have a cupboard and an antique dresser that I store much of my craft supplies in. It's all out of view, which is nice. But someday I'd like a craft room.

I would love to hear from you!
