Mossy!

Hello all!

It seems I can't get enough of these decorative balls. I made some fun deco balls from jute and pinto beans (see this post) and had a couple left over. I've seen a lot of these moss balls online and thought I would give it a try.

The Spanish moss was purchased at JoAnn's for $2.50. Since I already had the Styrafoam balls, this was free, but you can purchase a pack of 6 at Walmart for about $3. I've seen people use wiffle balls, too, and you can purchase those at the $1 store.

I used liberal amounts of hot glue and then simply rolled the ball over the moss to get it to stick without burning my fingers.

(A warning: moss is MESSY!)

But, it turns out so lovely in the end! I think if I had to do this again, I would paint the white a green, to better hide it after applying the moss.

I love the texture and splash of color it adds to the room. And this was an easy project! It only took about 1/2 an hour to complete both of these. Also, you could easily use scissors to trim up any stray moss strands, and make it look messy or more rounded. It's up to you!
