Let's Dish!

(That's me and my mom...isn't she cute?)

Hello dear friends!

(because I consider anyone who takes the time to visit this little blog of mine a "friend!")....today I'm trying something a tad different. Serenity Now is hosting a little "Let's Dish" party! And I love a party! So, let's get started....and have some fun!

Rules, rules....why must there always be rules? Because without rules, there would be nothing but chaos, don't you agree? I thought so! The rules are simple....link up on Amanda's site and be sure to leave some comments! So easy.

So, here are some questions she posted for us to "get to know each other better..." (I'm in love with quotes. They're "awesome.")

1. How long have you been blogging?
Well, I've had a private blog since 2007. I started a craft blog this year, in February! So, I'm sort of a newbie at this.

2. Why did you start blogging?
The family blog was a great way for me to keep tabs on my family's daily life. I have 3 small, small children and taking the time to scrapbook was just nowhere in the schedule. The blog became a great way to do this. After a few years, my newborns have slowly morphed into toddlers (so sad!) and I have a spare moment here and there. I started "crafting" before Christmas last year and was having fun showing off all my stuff. It occurred to me that maybe other family members did not want to see my crafts...but surely, someone out there did! Thus, my little blog was born.

3. Tell me about your blog's title. Why did you choose it?
Ok, this is TERRIBLE. I had other names for my blog...and they were taken! I just kept typing in words and phrases until something came up that wasn't already being used! Isn't that terrible? I'm happy to say, though, that there must have been some subconscious choice in choosing my title "A Little Knick Knack," because that's what I seem to love crafting! Just little odds and ends to make my house a home and to help my children learn and grow!

4. What is your favorite thing about blogging?
I'm pretty sure my favorite thing about blogging is trying new ideas, sharing my ideas, and hearing from other people who share my passion! It's fun to get comments or suggestions and to feel a sense of camaraderie from other bloggers out there. I'm sure other "stay-at-home-moms" would agree, that sometimes, you feel like you haven't had any adult time in your whole day! A whole day can go by and all I've done is ask kids if they want a juice box or milk or if they need a new diaper, etc....and blogging is sort of like reaching out to others who share your interests and hearing back from those who seem to enjoy what you've put your heart and soul into. Does that sound corny??? Ah, well....so be it!

5. If you had to choose one famous person to become your blog's next devoted reader, who would you pick?
Hmmmm....this is a great question. Would I say Martha Stewart, because she is the Julia Child of the craft world? Nope, sure wouldn't! Talk about your "constructive criticism!" Would I pick someone smarmy, who could influence and spread the word around like Oprah???....Heck no! I think my favorite reader is just those other moms in my situation. People who can totally "relate," you know? But, that's not the question! The question is what famous person....so, I pick...drum roll please...what? Still waiting? Sorry! The kids got a hold of me. What was the question again?

6. What's the funniest comment you've ever received on a blog post?
Ok, my comments have been nothing but lovely! I have great people who decide to comment on my blog and I enjoy reading and responding to almost all of them! I have gotten a few comments from people who "suggest" I change a few things...which, ultimately would change an entire project! It just makes me laugh, because hey---I asked for it! And I got it! I appreciate constructive criticism whenever....just don't expect me to re-do a project completely! A little change I can handle, but a complete re-do....that's just too exhausting to contemplate! ;)

Have a great night!!! And come back soon!

  3. Hi, Meg! I really enjoyed *meeting* you...this post was great b/c it helped me to find out so much in just a few paragraphs. ;) I know exactly what you mean about finding "me" time in your day. You should feel proud of yourself for starting up your crafting...blogging is good motivation to finish a project. ;) Thanks so much for linking up. Have fun "partying." ;) Hope you'll come back and visit me again soon. :)

  7. Oh my gosh! I'm totally with ya on #4. I've been a SAHM for seven and a half years and I practically RUN to the door and attack my Hubby when he gets home. I follows him around the house for at least 30 minutes just to have an adult to talk to. Blogging has been great for me in that area!

  17. Your answer to the celeb question - yeah, I'm totally with you on that one. It is like I had kids and then lost whatever short term {or long term for that matter} memory that I had! I feel like Dory from Nemo some days...

  18. I love that a blog is like an online scrapbook. I think it will be fun to look back in a few years on all the old posts and pictures of my children. Nice meeting you, and totally with you on the celeb question.
