To-Go Activity Book

This is a lovely idea I stole from My Little Gems, with a few modifications specific to my kids. These activities are on the back of placemats from the $1 store. Some of the pieces are hand stitched on and some were glued on with fabric glue. There are 3 more placemats with different activities (I have a boy and 2 girls, so I had to make something that would appeal to all children). I am planning on attached velcro to the felt pieces and then sewing the placemats together to make a "Quiet Book." It's still very much a work in progress, but I'm having fun putting it together!

More to come when it is finished!

  1. Meg, super cute! Here is how I sewed the placemats together. First I ironed them all down the middle, with spray starch. that gave me a line to sew on. Then I placed two of them open- so the line was in the middle (maybe I'll add a photo). I sewed these two together on the straight line. Then I put the third one on top of them and sewed on the same line. When these are all sewed together, you can fold it in half and you have a book. I hope that helps ;) Let me know if you have any more questions and thanks for commenting :) sharla

  3. you have some amazing things you have created! love this activity book.

how sad that you don't have a hobby lobby. i love that store. it is a great store. one of the 2 stores only in our town that sells fabric. (for a reasonable price) even the new walmarts going up around here are not including fabric in their stores. i hate it.

    happy weekend to you!
